Passcodes are supposed to protect your iPhone, but what happens if you forget it? Maybe you need to unlock an iPhone that isn’t yours or you simply forgot the passcode. Whatever the reason, there are several ways to unlock an iPhone passcode without a computer or internet connection. Here’s how to do it!

How to Unlock iPhone Passcode Without Computer

If you don’t have access to your computer, it doesn’t mean you can’t unlock your iPhone! There are a few different methods that will help you do it. First of all, if you haven’t already tried restarting your phone, there is no harm in doing so.

How to Unlock iPhone Passcode Without Computer

Oftentimes, an issue such as a low battery or an app taking up too much memory causes lockouts, and once you restart your phone all of those things will reset themselves.

If your phone still doesn’t work after restarting it, you can reset your passcode. Do note that you will lose any data on your phone and will need to set up everything again.

Resetting your passcode through iTunes is even more secure than just deleting all of your content because, in addition to wiping all of your information, it completely resets your device back to its factory settings.

When you start setting up your phone again, make sure you use a strong password rather than using one from before.

Either way is a fairly simple way to unlock an iPhone but they should only be used as a last resort if all else fails because they delete all of your data on both a computer and a mobile device! Before attempting either method, try resetting or restarting the device first. You may not even have an issue at all!

Why not Try to Use Siri

The first and easiest way to unlock an iPhone without a computer is by using Siri, Apple’s voice-activated personal assistant. This feature may not be available on all models, but if it’s available on yours, all you have to do is call Siri up (say Hey Siri!) and ask her for your passcode.

She will immediately deliver it to you in plain text. If Siri isn’t available for you, here are some other ways you can unlock your phone without a computer.

Disable Find My iPhone: One of my students left his passcode enabled on his phone so that he could quickly and easily find it when it was lost or stolen by locating its GPS coordinates (great plan…but who loses their phone like that?!).

I knew he would want access to his data so I went looking for how to do so with my own phone. (Actually, I just wanted access to his iBooks account!) We both were able to get into our phones using what is called Emergency Call which is another feature of Find My iPhone.

To do so, go into Settings and then tap your name at the top of your settings page. When that page comes up, you’ll see a section called Emergency SOS (if it doesn’t say emergency SOS in parentheses, you don’t have to Find My iPhone enabled).

To get there from your home screen, open up your Phone app and click on that icon with three lines stacked vertically under an ellipsis. This will show more options for apps inside of the phone app. Tap on Settings. From there scroll down until you see Emergency SOS under Phone. Click Emergency SOS.

From here it’s really easy to get into passcode bypass mode: just press and hold either volume button for two seconds or use Touch ID if it’s available (mine isn’t – I’m old school).

Turn Off the Phone

If you forget your passcode and have no access to a computer, there is still hope. Go ahead and try your usual passcode on your locked device. The chances are that if you’ve tried more than three times in a row, an alert will pop up asking you for your iCloud username and password. Input them correctly and your device will be unlocked.

However, if after five failed attempts a dialog box appears with options for Erase Data or Turn Off Device, these will only appear if you are logged into iCloud with two-factor authentication turned on.

Reset Network Settings

If you’re receiving a message on your phone that says something about not being able to connect, you should try resetting network settings. To do so, launch Settings from your Home screen and then go into General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

This will restart all of your network connections and allow you to try connecting again. You can also reset your network settings by going into Settings>General> Reset.

Then click on Reset Network Settings, which is right below Reset All Settings. After you do so, tap on Delete Cookies and Data if prompted; when that’s done, press Reset Network Settings once more. Now if you launch Safari from your Home screen, it should load without any problems!

Enter DFU Mode

If you can’t remember your iPhone passcode, there is an easy way to reset it without a computer. The first thing you’ll need to do is enter DFU mode. Connect your phone to a charger and turn it off by holding down the power button and then sliding to power off.

After turning it off, press and hold both home and power until you see Connect To iTunes on screen. Once you’ve entered DFU mode, your phone will connect to iTunes and a prompt will appear asking if you want to erase your phone.

If asked for a passcode or Touch ID after entering DFU mode, just re-enter whatever passcode or Touch ID that was set before.

Unlock Your Device (When All Else Fails)

Although it’s not common, you may find yourself in a situation where your computer is broken, and you can’t get into your device. In those cases, you have another option to try and bypass your passcode screen on an iPhone.

Simply press both the Home button (the big round button at the bottom of your phone) and either volume button (the buttons next to your headphone jack). Hold them both down until you see Slide to unlock appear at the top of your screen—and then use it just like a normal passcode entry field.

Conclusion on How to Unlock iPhone Passcode Without Computer

There are some times when we need to remove an iPhone passcode in order to use our phones again and get back into it. There are also cases where you would like to access your phone but have forgotten your password so if you enter it incorrectly too many times then you will be locked out of your device completely.

You can solve these problems by unlocking the iPhone passcode without a computer using any of these tips as mentioned above.
