but,
If we proceed without me making sure that you know the other form of marketing, then that would be unfair.
As you might already know Digital marketing with my above explanation, there is also Traditional marketing.
I know you might be thinking Traditional marketing is the opposite, but nope, because that is not the case as each type, have its own way of communicating, but yes one of the both must be better than the other.
Traditional Marketing vs Digital Marketing
Traditional marketing refers to the use of offline channels such as print, television, radio, billboards, and direct mail to promote products or services.
Digital marketing, on the other hand, utilizes online channels to reach and engage with customers.
While traditional marketing can be effective, it is limited in terms of reach, targeting, and measurement.
I know you are already having a marketing path that your business model might fit in, after reading a little about the two Marketing forms.
Digital marketing, on the other hand, allows for better targeting, segmentation, and measurement.
It also offers a more cost-effective way to reach a global audience.
Elements of Digital Marketing
Digital marketing includes various elements or tactics that you can use to promote your products or services.
Some of the most common elements of digital marketing are:
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
This tends to be one of my favorite of them all because it is a free traffic source and yeah requires loads of work and effort, but worth it.
SEO is the process of optimizing a website or online content to improve its visibility and ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs).
In simpler terms, it’s the practice of making your website more appealing to search engines like Google and Bing not to mention all others.
So that they rank your website higher when people search for specific keywords or phrases related to your business.
To achieve this, businesses and companies use a combination of on-page and off-page optimization techniques to make their website more attractive to search engines.
On-page optimization includes things like keyword research, optimizing your web content, improving website speed, and optimizing meta tags and descriptions.
Off-page optimization includes things like link building and social media marketing.
The goal of SEO is to drive more organic traffic to your website, which in turn can lead to more conversions, sales, and revenue for your business.
By appearing higher in search results, you can reach a wider audience and attract more potential customers.
Note: It’s worth noting that SEO is a complex and ever-evolving field, and there are no shortcuts or quick fixes to achieving high rankings in search results.
It is what I call a long ride…
It takes time, effort, and a lot of strategic planning to create a successful SEO strategy. However, the benefits of SEO can be significant, and it’s an essential part of any digital marketing strategy.
And sure I’m here to make all these very easy for you.
One free tool, I recommend for getting keywords related to your industry is google trends↗ and this article shows how you can use google trends for keyword research.
Pay-per-Click (PPC) Advertising
I have heard some funny experiences with PPC advertising that got me results and sometimes left me on the edge.
but let me explain what PPC advertising is first.
PPC advertising involves paying for ads to appear on search engine results pages or social media platforms.
With PPC advertising, you only pay when someone clicks on your ad, hence the term “pay-per-click.” This can be an effective way to drive targeted traffic to a website and increase conversions.
You could see that I had 178 clicks and paid 2.35 Naira per click and yes I am happy with that result. Although during the cause of running this campaign, I did some A-B testing just to be sure which works better.
of course, my first trial was with a display image more like a flier and I got 5 Naira per click which wasn’t that bad but wasn’t just a good fit for me either.
So I dug deeper and found another method that could cut down the cost.
My second trial was using a video for my PPC ad and guess what this was what gave me the result I showed you above.
In short, video ad converts better than display image ad.
Also, PPC ads are typically displayed in search engine results or on websites, and they are targeted to specific keywords or audiences such as AdSense, Ezoic, and the like.
For instance, if I was to run Pay-per-click (PPC) ad on this article, I won’t target those interested in Dog feeding instead I would go for people who are interested in Digital marketing.
That way I am being more specific with my targeting and will make it worthwhile and cheap.
One of the main benefits of PPC advertising is that it allows you to target ads to highly specific audiences, which can lead to more effective ad campaigns and higher conversion rates for you and save you some bucks.
Additionally, you only pay when someone clicks on your ad, so you can ensure that your advertising budget is being used efficiently and utilized, sometimes could be more but trust me the result is always tremendous.
However, PPC advertising can also be complex and time-consuming to set up and manage but trust me once you get used to running campaigns, it would then be seen as an easy fix.
If you decide to run PPC ads you will need to carefully select your keywords and bids, monitor the campaigns regularly so as to make sure you are targeting a converting audience, and also constantly optimize your ads to get the best results.
Despite these challenges, PPC advertising can be a powerful tool for businesses looking to reach new customers and drive sales.
By carefully targeting their ads and measuring your results, you can see a strong return on investment and grow your businesses over time.
Social Media Marketing
Social Media Marketing is the practice of using social media platforms to promote a brand, product, or service.
It involves creating and sharing content on your social media networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, to engage with followers and attract new audiences.
Social media marketing can be an effective way to reach target audiences, build brand awareness, and drive traffic to a website or landing page.
It allows you to connect with customers on a more personal level, share valuable information, and build relationships that can lead to long-term loyalty.
However, social media marketing also requires a strategy and careful planning to be successful.
It’s important to create engaging content that resonates with your target audience, post consistently, and use analytics to track your results and adjust your strategy as needed.
Overall, social media marketing can be a valuable tool for businesses of all sizes and industries to connect with customers, build brand awareness, and drive sales rapidly.
Email Marketing
If you’re looking to take your digital marketing efforts to the next level, email marketing is a must-have in your arsenal.
With the power of email, you can connect with your audience in a more personal way, nurture leads, and increase sales.
But, to be successful with email marketing, you need to have a solid strategy in place. First, you need to build a targeted email list of subscribers who are interested in your brand and what you have to offer.
On this blog Techlittleblue, I have my newsletter almost everywhere on my blog, on my homepage and also on a few other pages, not because it beautifies my pages alone but because I can get more email subscribers and build my email list.
Then after doing this, you need to craft engaging and valuable content that resonates with your subscribers and encourages them to take action.
When it comes to email marketing, remember that quality over quantity is key. Instead of bombarding your subscribers with frequent, generic emails, focus on delivering high-quality content that provides value to your audience.
By doing so, you’ll build trust with your subscribers, increase engagement, and ultimately drive conversions.
So, if you’re not already leveraging the power of email marketing, now is the time to start. With the right strategy, email marketing can be a game-changer for your business.
Content Marketing
Content marketing is a vital part of any successful digital marketing strategy. It involves creating and sharing valuable content with your target audience to attract, engage, and retain them.
From blog posts to videos to social media updates, there are many forms of content marketing that can help you build brand awareness, establish authority, and drive traffic to your website.
But creating great content is only the first step. To get the most out of your content marketing efforts, you need to focus on distribution and promotion.
That means leveraging channels like email, social media, and paid advertising to get your content in front of the right people.
At the same time, you should always be measuring and analyzing your results to see what’s working and what’s not.
By constantly refining your content marketing strategy, you can stay ahead of the competition and achieve your business goals.
One of the keys to effective content marketing that I know work for me is understanding your target audience.
You need to know what they’re interested in, what problems they’re trying to solve, and what motivates them to take action.
By creating content that speaks directly to their needs and desires, you can build a strong connection with them and earn their trust over time.
Another important factor is consistency.
You can’t just create one great piece of content and call it a day. To build a loyal following, you need to consistently produce high-quality content that educates, entertains, or inspires your audience.
This can help you establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry and keep your brand top of mind for potential customers.
Overall, content marketing requires a long-term approach and a willingness to experiment and adapt as you go.
It’s not a quick fix or a silver bullet, but when done well, it can be one of the most powerful tools in your marketing arsenal.
Mobile Marketing
Mobile marketing is a critical part of any modern marketing strategy.
With more than half of all internet traffic now coming from mobile devices, it’s essential to have a mobile-first approach if you want to reach your audience where they are.
There are many different tactics you can use for mobile marketing, including mobile-friendly website design, mobile apps, SMS marketing, and mobile advertising.
But no matter which tactics you choose, the key is to create a seamless, user-friendly experience that meets the needs of your mobile audience.
One important aspect of mobile marketing is local search optimization. Many people use their mobile devices to search for businesses and services in their local area, so it’s essential to ensure that your business is visible in local search results.
This involves optimizing your website and listings for local keywords and ensuring that your business information is consistent and up-to-date across all directories and platforms.
Another important factor is data privacy and security. With the increasing use of mobile devices comes an increased risk of data breaches and privacy violations.
As a mobile marketer, it’s essential to take steps to protect your users’ data and ensure that you comply with relevant regulations and best practices.
Overall, mobile marketing is a constantly evolving field, and it’s essential to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies if you want to succeed.
But by focusing on user experience, local search optimization, and data privacy and security, you can build a strong mobile marketing strategy that delivers real results for your business.
